Congratulations to Alexandra and Caroline Figaro are competitive figure skaters.
In the first few competitions of this season, the Figaro girls have earned a total of one 3rd place medal, six 2nd place medals and nine 1st place medals. Mom and Dad are very proud of their hard work and dedication.

Congratulations to Camryn is on 2 competitive cheerleading teams in the area - Spirit Force All-Stars and the DC Scorpions.
Her Spirit Force team - Stardom - won 1st place
and Youth Division Champions at the Maryland State Cheerleading
Competition in Baltimore on January 23rd. They were awarded 2010 State
Champion jackets.
DC Scorpions Lethal competed at the
Showplace Arena on January 31st and won the Maryland Cup Beach Blast
competition. Lethal won 1st place, High Point Champions (session #2)
and were awarded $1,000 in cash for being Highest Scoring Team of the
Day (beating out 68 other squads).

Students Construct Geodesic Dome
Every 6-8 weeks, 7th graders take a curriculum-related trip. This one was to the National Building Museum, where students constructed a geodesic dome.

Students in grades 7-8 participated today in the school level Spelling Bee.
Ellen Armstrong - 9th Grader
Congratulations to 9th grader, Ellen Armstrong for an excellent performance as a member of the Junior Philharmonic Orchestra. She performed at the Kratzen Performing Arts Center at American University on Nov. 8th. Ellen also is a member of the Flute Choir and performed Sunday, November 9th at the Sitar Arts Center. The mission of the DC Youth Orchestra Program is to provide a center for affordable, music instruction and performance opportunities for young people to develop a youth orchestra capable of competing successfully at the national and international levels; and to instill in our students the discipline and focus necessary to succeed on an academic as well as a musical plane. London Smith - 3rd Grader
Third grade student London Smith will be performing in the Washington Ballet's production of the Nutcracker at the Warner Theatre. She will perform as one of the bees in the opening of Act II. London will be in the following performances: Dec.

Tiana D. Bias - NHA Alumni '08
Former New Hope student Tiana D. Bias (class of '08) is performing with MAD Productions in it's 37th Dinner Theater Musical: "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." Performances take place at the Barney & Bea Recreation Center in Greenbelt, MD. She will be performing on November 15th and 20th. For ticket information, please call 240-475-8800. Tiana is also performing in Tennessee Williams' "The Glass Menagerie" November 13th-16th and November 20th, 21st and 23rd.
