Yes, for siblings, first responders, active military, staff children and children of alumni.
Does NHA accept students with special needs who have an IEP or 504 Plan?
Yes, about 15% of NHA students have a 504 Plan. They may be for learning disabilities, social /emotional/behavioral, or medical, including but not limited to: dyslexia, dysgraphia, memory or processing issue, anxiety, depression, diabetes, autism etc.. Such applicants must submit as part of their documents, a copy of their 504 or IEP along with all diagnostic testing and recommendations for accommodations. As well if a child is on medication, has speech or OT, or is in therapy this information should be provided.
NOTE: Students must have been recommended to be mainstreamed. If the recommendation is that the student needs to be in a special education co-taught classroom, with a very small size and two teachers, a special educator and a general educator, then NHA may not be the best option as it does not have these accommodations.
