Initiated by Dolores Muhammad in 2010, the New Hope Academy's Martial Arts Tae Kwon Do (TDK) program has trained many students in martial arts over its years of service. Simba Do Jang Tae Kwon Do is open to all ages and abilities. TDK improves discipline and focus, enhances personal confidence and helps participants be healthy and get fit.

Our Tae Kwon Do program is open for enrollment to the surrounding community. Classes are available starting with preschool and continue to adults. Class times and pricing can be found at the following website: www.fivestartkd.org
New Hope Academy
New Hope Academy has hosted several martial arts tournaments and events in the DMV area. Our classes consist of students who are interested in taking the martial arts recreationally; as well as competitively. Students who wish to attend competitions do so locally and nationally. Students who are on the competition team will have additional responsibilities and costs.
New Hope Academy students are a part of Five Star Tae Kwon Do; which is an affiliation of Simba Do Jang Tae Kwon Do. Students of Simba Do Jang study and train in traditional Tae Kwon Do and incorporate various other styles of self-defense with their training. Simba Do Jang Tae Kwon Do was established in 1969 in Washington, DC under legendary martial arts pioneers and champions, Supreme Grandmaster Furman Marshall and late Grandmaster Phillip Cunningham, Jr. Currently, Simba Do Jang schools and affiliates have been established throughout the United States and worldwide.
